North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality and Public Finance Authority
The State Revolving Fund (SRF) Program started in 1990 to help North Dakota receive federal funding under the Clean Water Act. In 1998, it was expanded to include funding under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The program receives grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These funds are used to provide low-interest loans to local governments for eligible projects. These projects include wastewater treatment, reducing pollution from runoff, and improving public water systems.
The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality and the Authority manage the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund programs together.
