DEP is divided into three primary areas:<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0c6890;\" href=\"https:\/\/floridadep.gov\/land-and-rec\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Land and Recreation<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0programs acquire and protect lands for preservation and recreation. DEP oversees 175 state parks and trails and more than 12 million acres of public lands and 4 million acres of coastal uplands and submerged lands.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0c6890;\" href=\"https:\/\/floridadep.gov\/regulatory\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Regulatory<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0programs safeguard natural resources by overseeing permitting and compliance activities that protect air and water quality, and manage waste cleanups.<\/p>\n<p><a style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0c6890;\" href=\"https:\/\/floridadep.gov\/eco-rest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ecosystem Restoration<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0programs protect and improve water quality and aquatic resources including America\u2019s Everglades, Florida\u2019s iconic springs and Florida\u2019s world-renowned coastal resources. DEP works with communities, local governments and other agencies to protect and restore water quality and supply\u00a0and to provide funding assistance for water restoration and infrastructure projects, as well as coordinates the protection of Florida\u2019s submerged lands and coastal areas.<\/p>\n<p>Florida&#8217;s\u00a0State Revolving Fund\u00a0(SRF) is made up of three programs &#8211;\u00a0<a style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0c6890;\" href=\"https:\/\/floridadep.gov\/wra\/srf\/content\/cwsrf-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Clean Water State Revolving Fund<\/a>,\u00a0<a style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0c6890;\" href=\"https:\/\/floridadep.gov\/wra\/srf\/content\/dwsrf-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Drinking Water State Revolving Fund<\/a>\u00a0and State Revolving Fund Management.\u00a0Both the Clean Water\u00a0and the Drinking Water SRF Programs are funded through money received from federal grants as well as state contributions. These funds then &#8220;revolve&#8221; through the repayment of previous loans and interest earned.
