Puerto Rico Departamento De Salud
La Secretaría Auxiliar de Salud Ambiental es el componente del sistema de salud de Puerto Rico que tiene la encomienda de planificar, dirigir, coordinar y evaluar los servicios de Salud Ambiental que operan en los niveles central, regional y local del Departamento de Salud. Dicha responsabilidad está dirigida a la prevención y control de problemas del ambiente que afectan la salud pública.
Nuestra misión es controlar o eliminar aquellos factores del medio ambiente que representan un riesgo para la salud de los residentes de Puerto Rico. Esta medida de prevención primaria evita o reduce los posibles riesgos de enfermedades y, por ende, disminuye los costos de atención médica.

The Auxiliary Secretariat of Environmental Health is the component of the Puerto Rico health system that is in charge of planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the Environmental Health services that operate at the central, regional, and local levels of the Department of Health. This responsibility is aimed at the prevention and control of environmental problems that affect public health.
Our mission is to control or eliminate those environmental factors that pose a health risk to the residents of Puerto Rico. This primary prevention measure avoids or reduces the possible risks of diseases and, therefore, reduces the costs of medical care.
