Founded in 1985, GEFA facilitates programs that conserve and protect Georgia’s energy, land, and water resources.
GEFA provides loans for water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure; manages energy efficiency and renewable energy programs; oversees land conservation projects; and manages and monitors state-owned fuel storage tanks.
The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) is a federally-funded loan program for drinking water infrastructure projects.
Eligible DWSRF projects include; Various public health-related water supply projects, Projects that address compliance-related problems, such as correcting water system deficiencies including water quality, capacity, pressure, and water loss, Water conservation projects and programs.
GEFA also offers low-interest loans for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects at water treatment facilities.

The Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) is a federally-funded loan program for wastewater infrastructure and pollution prevention projects.
Eligible CWSRF projects include; Water quality, water conservation, and wastewater treatment projects, such as constructing new wastewater treatment plants, Repairing and replacing sewer lines and stormwater control projects, Implementing water conservation projects and programs, Nonpoint source pollution control projects.
GEFA also offers low-interest loans for energy-efficiency and renewable energy projects at wastewater treatment facilities.
